"Naked" on UK TV tonight :-) [05 Nov 2008|02:29pm]

I should have posted this earlier but “Naked” will be on TV (UK) tonight.

10:50pm GMT 5/11/08 Film Four

If you haven’t seen it, then see it. It’s one of David’s best works and well, if you’re a fan of Mike Leigh’s work, you’ll love it. Does contains some sexual scenes, some that can b interpreted as rape and the film is dark but it’s surperb and it makes you think!!!

Naked: some pictures taken from my photobucket albumCollapse )

Blessed Be!

You can't have too much of David, right? [15 Sep 2008|10:53am]

I know I only posted yesterday but I was browsing through the Sunday Mirror magazine supplement (Celebs magazine) this morning when I came across a small article about Anna going shopping. It was 2 pages long and covered with recent pictures of Anna shopping and one picture showed the entire clan: Anna, David and Gracie (Gracie’s face respectably blurred by the magazine). According to the written part, Anna was shopping for men’s clothes for David (bless!)

Anyway, the only picture of David in the article is found under the LJ cut tag. Enjoy

(btw if posting pictures like this is against the community rules, please tell me and I WILL delete the post, I promise) :-)

Blessed Be!

(PS for the record, I see that mandy_thewlis credited me for finding the link of the interview yesterday that she posted on her site either last night or this morning. Cheers babes and I had no idea it was on Youtube *adds it to her favourites*)

A (very) recent interview with David :-) [14 Sep 2008|09:27pm]

I found an interview with David that was posted this morning by ITN. You can watch it online at:

Be patient. You will have to watch an advertisement first but it’s only about 20 seconds long. Once the ad is over, the interview will then start. Trust me. It’s an interview with David talking about his role in “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas”; how the role was hard because there are two sides to him that he had to portray and about what happened back stage.

I was able to get a screencap from the interview by using that lovely “Print Screen” key and you can see that under the LJ cut tag.

A cap from the interviewCollapse )

Enjoy :-)

Blessed Be!

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas [09 Sep 2008|11:10pm]

Well, it’s finally here: The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas is finally going to be released. I personally have been looking forward to this ever since I found out that David was going to be in it. A few weeks after the news broke, I was in the library and saw it in the withdrawn section for 20p. It was an almost new hardback but the reason for its cheap price was that there was a small bloodstain on one of the pages (not much blood and it was on a page with no writing but hey it was a bargain). I recommend the book to ANYONE, child or adult. It’s a fantastic look into how things are seen through the eyes of the child.

I’ve not seen the film but I can honestly see David in the role of Father. I think his role is complex because he has to portray him in a way that he is through the eyes of a child whilst at the same time, the audience doesn’t forget what his role in the film is (I’m not saying anymore because I don’t want to spoil it).

Anyway, there were two reviews I saw this week in the Sunday papers my mum buys: The Sunday Mirror and The People. I have scanned them in and put them under a lj cut tag but if you don’t want spoilers, I’ll just say the basics:

a) Both papers give it 4/5 and compared to the other films reviewed in each paper, it is the highest rated film this week (although The People accidentally states it’s The Boy WITH the Striped Pyjamas lol)
b) Both praise David enormously (Richard Bacon in the People states: Bruno is the son of a ************ **** ********** (played by one of the best actors around, David Thewlis) and The Sunday Mirror states: David Thewlis offers a suitably complex and thoughtful performance as Bruno's father (words replaced by asterisks because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who doesn’t know yet)

Anyway if you want to see the reviews in full, go under the lj cut tag and enjoy! There will hopefully be a review in the film supplement of the Mirror on Friday and I will scan it for you lot, if you want.

The scanned in reviewsCollapse )

Blessed Be!

David Thewlis - 'I can't handle the fake hugs and air kisses' [13 Nov 2007|10:44am]

[ mood | chipper ]

THERE'S a sharp rap on the door of David Thewlis's hotel suite and a stunningly imperious Eastern European girl swishes in. She is carrying a tray upon which is balanced a tiny black box. She carefully lays the box on a side table and smiles mysteriously at him. "A little something for you." She all but winks.

As soon as she leaves, he jumps up excitedly from the bed to see what she's brought. "Jesus Christ, I think they're condoms!" he exclaims. "She must be a very cheap date. I wonder if she's coming back."

The Razzies and "Damage" [25 Feb 2007|01:04pm]

Last night, the Razzies were shown.

David Thewlis was nominated for Worst Supporting Actor for “Basic Instinct 2” and “The Omen” (I thought he wasn’t but I later found out via the official Razzie that he was up for “The Omen” as well).

So…did he win it?

Nope he didn’t!

The winner was M. Night Shyamalan for “Lady in the Water” (he also beta Ron Howard for “Worst Director” award)

Lets all cheer that there was someone else out there proven to worse than David!

Last night, I saw the film “Damage”. I watched it mainly because I heard Jeremy Irons is very naughty in it but I smiled when I saw him in a scene with David. It’s an one-to-one scene so the camera is on David quite a bit in that scene. I wouldn’t watch it just for that scene but rather the superb acting of Jeremy as well as Miranda Richardson!

Blessed Be!

anyone else want to sulk at this awful news? [06 Feb 2007|01:36pm]

Have you heard the latest news involving David Thewlis?

He's been nominated for a RAZZIE

YES!!! A RAZZIE for Worst Supporting Actor in "Basic Instinct 2"

Now I have never seen the film but from every review I have read about his role in it, I have only read positive things so why does he get a RAZZIE nomination and the main actor gets let off by NOT getting a nominatio?

It's a good thing it wasnt for "The Omen" (which has somehow not been nominated for any and I thought that Liev Schrieber and Julia Stiles would be nominated. I really did!) otherewise I'd be really angry because David was surperb in that!

But then again Gary Oldman was nominated for one for Worst Screen Couple in "The Scarlet Letter" and not only didnt he get it but it hasnt damaged his career. Lets hope this happens to David. Looking at his contenders, I feel that he may have get let off this one!

Blessed Be!
